Why I'm Building This
Oliver was a 160-pound Newfoundland with a heart that somehow felt even bigger than he was. Sweet, goofy, gentle — my soul dog. We lost him unexpectedly in 2024, and I still miss him in a way that's hard to put into words.
While he was here, I learned something giant-breed owners know in their bones: leaving them is hard. Not just emotionally — logistically. I wanted a place that felt calm and safe. A place that understood what a 120–180 lb dog actually needs to be comfortable.
Those places are rare.
Most boarding facilities are built for volume and average-sized dogs. They're loud. Crowded. Physically awkward for giants — tight runs, slick floors, stairs, hurried handling. Even when the staff is kind, the environment often isn't.
At one point, I learned to fly small planes so I could bring Oliver with me on regional trips instead of leaving him somewhere that didn't feel right. That's how far I was willing to go. I suspect some of you understand that impulse.
This project exists because of him.
If you've ever looked at your giant and thought, "Most places just aren't built for you" — you're exactly who I'm building this for.
Oliver deserved it. Your dog does too.
